Brian Crew, of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, was recently selected as “Best Soloist” for both the TallCorn and NEIBA (North East Iowa Bandmasters Association) Jazz Festivals. Congratulations to Brian for all of his hard work!
Student Success – Blake Manternach
Blake Manternach, of Iowa City West High School, was named an outstanding soloist in the 4A category at the SEIBA (South Eastern Iowa Band Association) Jazz Festival.

Congratulations to Justin Gingerich, Brian Crew, and Blake Manternach who were selected to the 2011 Iowa All-State Jazz Band!
Student Success – Scholarships
Brian Crew of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids has won a cash scholarship from the Cedar Rapids Beethoven Society for his performance of Camille Saint Saëns’ Cavatine for trombone and piano (Lee Nguyen, piano).

New Bio Pic and New Design
Kate took some new bio pics and they turned out great! I really enjoyed one in particular and wanted to use it for my home page. I felt that the style of the website did not fit with the style of the new headshot, so I selected a new style. Hopefully, that does not cause any confusion.
